My Travels -- Want to learn the difference between the Samba (Brazil) and Tango (Argentina) dance steps and the history behind it? You'll have to check out my travel features in the July 2010 issue of Porthole Cruise Magazine.
We lived in Germany for three years when my husband was stationed at Bitburg Air Force Base, Germany. We lived in a two room apartment and spent our time and money traveling around Europe.  When we returned state-side the travel bug firmly had a hold on us and we've made it to all the states, including Hawaii and Alaska.

But, it didn't end there.  Needing a relaxing get-away we ventured off to the Caribbean to find that perfect Island.  We're still looking for it, but enjoying all the many places the various ships pull in at port.

Other far away locations called and we discovered, Japan, China, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, South America, the Society Islands, England, etc.  However there are still plenty of places for us to visit. And for me to write about.

As for travel writing, I have the occasional travel feature in Porthole Cruise Magazine; but most of my features can be found on the various cruise ships such as Princess Cruises, Holland America, Radisson, Windstar, P&O, and Seabourn in their deluxe in-cabin books or magazines.

And, I've been known to do the occasional travelogue series for local papers.

TRAVEL WRITER

Yes, we're back from Egypt and I've finally recovered from Jet Lag. Ugh. But it was worth it. Our travels to see the pyramids in the hot, dry, desert heat didn't disappoint.  Getting up close and personal with the sphinx was awsome, as was our trip to Alexandira to visit the new library. But to cruise the Nile, visit all the temples, balloon along the Valley of the Kings, and drift over farmer's fields, and be transported back to a culture where farming is done hands-on, was priceless.
And then there was Jordan. Petra, Mt. Nebo, and swimming in the Dead Sea.  Oh, what a minute. Did I say swimming? I meant bobbing. Because, honestly, the minute you try to imerge backwards into the saltest of waters, your limbs shoot  up in the air. And don't even try to turn over because then you feel so exposed as your fanny stick's out of the water like a duck's behind when it's fishing.
Yes, there is so much more to tell. But you'll have to wait a bit, as I try to catch up on everthing now that I'm home.  Our three-week Egypt/Joran adventure will be worth the wait.
